Shooting & Delivering Since 1982

John “Sandy” Santucci, prior to founding John Sandy Productions, Inc., was a world-class freestyle skier competing in the International Freestyle Skiing Association’s World Tour events during the 1972 through 1976 seasons. In 1979, Sandy co-founded the Pro Mogul Tour competitions (1979 – 1981). His duties as media director and press liaison, led to his purchase of a Sony Video Camera to provide sports and news footage of the events for various TV outlets.

In 1982, he founded what is today JSP, and that same year became a reporter/field producer for ESPN. His duties were to be ESPN’s “man on the slopes” traveling throughout Europe and North American covering US Ski Team activities during the Federation of International Skiers World Tour season.

In the late eighties, following several years of producing, shooting and reporting for ESPN, Santucci opened a studio in Denver, and expanded his video services to include corporate, government, educational, and retail clients. As a result, JSP has been providing video production services to a myriad of diverse clients here and overseas for the past twenty-five years.

JSP Produced the first ever Extreme Skiing Television Program

In 1992, Santucci organized and developed, in conjunction with Bob Gillen and Gina Kroft, Crested Butte Mountain Resort Marketing Team, the first ever, U.S. Extreme Skiing Championship event. This resulted in JSP producing the first ever Extreme Skiing television program. Eventually, it led to JSP’s becoming the original architect of other extreme ski and snowboarding event programs for broadcast. JSP produced seven seasons of the World Extreme Skiing Championships from Valdez, Alaska, and is still involved with the annual U.S. Extreme Skiing Championships in Crested Butte, and the Colorado Freeskiing Championships at Snowmass Village, CO.

Since the early days, JSP has grown into a full-service, self-contained video production company that owns the latest broadcast quality equipment, including state-of-the-art editing suites and duplicators for DVD and tape. JSP has archived their award winning sports event and documentary programs, as well as other productions into an enormous stock footage library. Today, JSP is a recognized leader in video stock footage providing it to corporate, broadcast, educational, governmental and production entities worldwide.
